The District, situated in the State of California in Placer County, covers 39 square miles of commercial, residential, and wildland properties. In 1979 the District transitioned from an entirely volunteer organization to have daytime coverage by one paid employee. In 1992, The District began 24 hour shift coverage with two personnel. Today, the District operates two stations; one full time and the second during the day only. The District is branching out from a "suppression only" mentality and is progressing into the fields of public education, prevention, training, rescue, and safety. It is our pleasure to serve the community and to provide fire and life safety services. The dedicated personnel of the Hollister Fire Department provide services including public education, fire prevention inspections, new construction plan checking, and arson investigation as well as responding to emergencies. Our department is an all risk department that responds to emergency medical events, vehicle accidents, hazardous material releases, specialized rescue events, and all types of fires including structures, vehicles, and vegetation. All personnel in the Hollister Fire Department receive continuous professional training year round to insure our readiness to respond. The City of Hollister has completed the construction of a second fire station at the corner of Airline Highway and Union Road. We look forward to serving the public at this new facility that will improve the service level we can provide. Included in the new facility is a community meeting room.
