About Hauppauge Fire
Department:
Hauppauge Fire Department proudly protects 30,000 people living in an area
of 11 square miles. We operate out of Three stations that protect a
primarily commercial area. Our department is a public department whose
members are on a volunteer status.
The Hauppauge Fire Department
is located in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, approximately 50 miles
east of New York City. The Department serves a residential population of
thirty thousand. However, due to the large amount of industrial buildings
and commercial and goverment office buildings during the business day the
population swells to well over sixty thousand. There are approximately 3,800
single family wood frame type dwellings, six garden apartment and
condominium complexes, 600 commercial buildings of non-combustible
construction (90% of which are fully sprinklered) ranging in size from
10,000 to 300,000 Square feet. There are also a number of mid-rise &
high-rise office and hotel buildings. Our Department consists of three
engine companies and one truck/rescue company. We operate six class A
engines, one 100 ft ladder tower, and one heavy/technicial rescue apparatus.
