It is located 7 miles South of Albany, and 11 miles East of Corvallis. Tangent Rural Fire & Rescue responds to approximately 300 calls annually. Tangent Rural Fire & Rescue serves as Mutual Aid for Albany Fire, Corvallis Fire, Halsey Fire, and Lebanon Fire when extra emergency services are needed. The management team is staffed by a Fire Chief, Asst. Chief, Operation/Training Officer and a EMS Coordinator who is a Registered Nurse. We furnish fire suppression , and emergency medical services. During the wildland fire season, we give mutual aid to Oregon Department of Forestry, the U.S Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. Dedicated Volunteers give their time freely to the hard work and state certified training required to protect lives and property in the district. After a year of volunteer fundraising we were able to purchase a "first out engine", a 1934 Ford 1000 gpm pumper which still works! Currently we have new up to date turnouts for all 22 volunteers and a paid Chief.
